Scary costumes are great for Halloween because they really fit in with the idea of Halloween and that is to dress up as something scary and other-worldly.  The original idea of the Halloween costume was to scare off evil spirits.  You and your children will not be able to scare off any of real evil spirits so the best thing that you can do is scare all the people where you live.  It is nice to add a little something to the traditional zombie costume like having little rockstar zombies coming out of your woodwork.
